In Los Cabos, the setting is quiet. The connection does not have to be.
Groups choose Los Cabos for a reason. The light is softer, the pace is slower, the resorts sit between desert and sea and everything feels considered. That calm is exactly right for rest, for good conversation over a long dinner, for a leadership group that needs space to think. What calm does not do on its own is turn colleagues into a team that trusts each other under pressure.
Corazon Azul builds that part: hosted team challenges, hunts and give-back builds for groups of over 20, phenomenally fun on the surface and engineered underneath to get people communicating, collaborating and relying on each other. In Los Cabos, we keep the elegance of the place and add the one thing a beautiful resort cannot provide by itself – a shared challenge your people solved together, and remember together.

Los Cabos, the way we use it
Los Cabos is really two places sharing one coastline, and a good planner uses both. Cabo San Lucas brings energy – the marina, the boats, the livelier end of the corridor. San Jose del Cabo brings quiet – courtyards, galleries, a slower evening rhythm. Most resort programs live somewhere along the corridor between them, and the team block should be designed for the exact stretch your group is actually in, not for a generic beach destination.
We design around how a Los Cabos day really works. Mornings are clear and kind. Midday is bright and hot, desert heat coming off the land even with the sea right there, and we will not schedule your best team moment into the harshest light of the day. Late afternoon is the gift here. The heat eases, the light turns gold, the beach and the terraces become the best rooms on the property. That is where a finale lands – people relaxed, the day’s meetings behind them, a challenge finishing as the sky does something spectacular on its own.
And the landscape itself teaches. Desert and ocean side by side is an honest metaphor a host does not have to force: resources are precious, navigation matters, and nobody crosses difficult ground alone. On the sand, with one teammate blindfolded and the rest guiding by voice only, that stops being a metaphor. It becomes a skill the group practices, laughs through, and gets better at in real time. A little outside the comfort zone, completely supported, in one of the most beautiful settings in Mexico – that combination is why groups remember a Los Cabos team block long after they have forgotten the breakout sessions.
One piece of planning honesty, because premium groups deserve it plainly: not every Los Cabos beach is a swimming beach, and conditions vary by property and by day. Our formats are built for the sand, the terraces and the grounds, not dependent on entering the water, so the design holds whatever the surf is doing.
Formats that belong to Los Cabos
Beach challenges at golden hour. The signature Los Cabos format, timed for late afternoon. Teams work a course on the sand in rounds that mix construction, navigation and guided trust tasks, finishing together as the light changes. Calm setting, serious teamwork, a finale that photographs itself without anyone staging it.
Resort and terrace hunts. Teams navigate a course through the property – courtyards, gardens, terraces, marina-side stops for groups based near Cabo San Lucas, and quieter art-district flavour for groups based in San Jose del Cabo. Each stop is a real problem, and the property your group thought was just a hotel becomes a place it explored and figured out together.
Courtyard and ballroom challenges. For leadership groups and programs that want focus without sand: tabletop and full-room formats that run in a shaded courtyard, on a terrace, or in your meeting space. Quieter in tone, just as demanding in communication, and ideal for a morning block before the day warms up.
Give-back builds. When the trip should leave something behind in Baja as well as in the team: teams build wheelchairs, assemble bikes for children, pack school kits, or build solar lights for families without reliable electricity. We work with over 100 charities and nonprofit foundations in the United States and internationally, and based on your team’s desire we can source a specific foundation, hospital or cause – in the Los Cabos region or at home – to receive what your group builds. In a place this beautiful, a handover moment has a particular weight. People feel who the work was for.
Sample structure – a two-hour golden-hour beach format, step by step
- The open (10 minutes). Teams form on the sand in late-afternoon light, shoes off if they want them off, rules in one breath. The first problem arrives fast, because a relaxed group needs a reason to lean in – and once the first round starts, they do.
- Round one – the desert build (30 minutes). A construction challenge where materials are limited on purpose. Scarcity forces choices, choices force conversation, and a plan that lives in one person’s head fails quickly. Roles split, voices rise, the build improves.
- Round two – the guided trust challenge (25-30 minutes). One teammate sees, the rest move blindfolded by voice alone across the sand. In Los Cabos the course is quiet enough that every instruction can be heard – which means every unclear instruction can be heard too. Communication gets precise, fast.
- Round three – the corridor problem (25-30 minutes). Teams leave the beach for a course through the property, each stop holding part of a larger puzzle. No team can finish alone, so competition softens into collaboration across the whole group, exactly when energy is highest.
- The finale (15-20 minutes). Scores, the closing challenge, and the close – what this group just proved about itself, said out loud while the light is at its best. Then we hand you back to your evening, on time, with dinner still ahead and something real to talk about at it.

Group-size guidance
- 20 to 50: One course, one host working close. The classic Los Cabos leadership and executive size, where formats can go deep and nobody in the group gets to watch from the edge.
- 50 to 200: Parallel beach courses and hunt routes, whole-group opens and finales. The core incentive size on the corridor, and the one resort terraces and beach frontage serve most naturally.
- 200 to 1,000: Corridor scale. Staggered starts, multiple course variants, shade and water built into every rotation, participation kept real at team level however large the crowd grows.
- 1,000+: Choreographed with the resort and your production team from day one – large corridor properties and buyouts are planned with you property by property, never assumed.
There is a format for every group over 20 and a way to build it for every type of budget. Tell us the outcome you want and the window your program can give us, and we will design backwards from both.
Logistics – Los Cabos specifics
- Program-first scheduling: tell us where the team block sits in your program – a golden-hour beach slot, a shaded morning courtyard session, an evening terrace finale – and the format is built to that slot, including setup time and property approvals handled in planning.
- Heat and light discipline: outdoor formats run in the morning or late afternoon. Midday starts in the warm months are something we will recommend against, plainly and early, and shade and water are built into every course.
- Water honesty: formats are designed for sand, terraces and grounds and never depend on swimming or entering the surf. If a property has a calm, swimmable stretch and a format can safely use the shoreline, that is decided in planning, not promised in advance.
- Two-town awareness: tell us whether your group is based toward Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo, or along the corridor between them, and hunt routes, timing and evening flow are designed for that base, including transfer time if any stop sits off property.
- Resort coordination: we work inside your property’s rules – permitted beach areas, noise windows, vendor access and load-in – confirmed with the resort in planning so there are no surprises on the day.
- International ease: formats run fully in English, materials travel with our team, and no participant needs anything beyond what the resort already provides. Arrival and transfer logistics for our hosting team are handled in planning, never left to the event day.
- We bring: design, hosting and facilitation, all activity materials, scoring and the finale, and planning calls that fit the event to your program.
- You bring: the people and the window in the program. We handle the rest.
FAQ
Our group is at a resort on the corridor – can everything run on property?
Yes, and that is how most Los Cabos programs run. Beach challenges, resort hunts, courtyard formats and give-back builds all live inside your property’s footprint, so there are no transfers to manage and no momentum lost between sessions.
Is Los Cabos right for a senior leadership group, or is this more for large incentives?
Both, designed differently. For a leadership group the formats go deeper and quieter – fewer people, harder communication problems, more space in the close. For a large incentive the same mechanics scale across parallel courses with a whole-group finale. Tell us which group you are bringing and the tone follows.
Can we swim during the beach format?
The formats are built on the sand and do not require anyone to enter the water. Los Cabos surf conditions vary by beach and by day, and we would rather design a brilliant land-based challenge than promise a water element conditions might take away. Your free time at a swimmable beach or the pool is yours to enjoy outside the team block.
What time of day works best?
Late afternoon, whenever your program allows it. The heat has eased, the light is at its best, and a golden-hour finale gives the whole group a shared ending before dinner. Morning is the strong second choice. We will advise honestly against a midday outdoor start in the warm months.
Can we do a give-back build that benefits a local cause in Baja?
Yes. Alongside our wider network of over 100 charities and nonprofit foundations in the United States and internationally, we can source a specific foundation, hospital or community cause in the Los Cabos region based on your team’s desire, so what your group builds goes to recipients who could not buy these things themselves.
What do you need from us to give a proposal?
Dates, headcount, the resort or area of the corridor you are based in, and the window in your program you can give us. Tell us exactly that when you get in touch.
