In Miami, the indoors is the wasted opportunity.
Other cities make you earn an outdoor day. Miami hands you one: the light, the water, the beach that runs for miles, neighborhoods with real flavor a short walk apart. And yet most company gatherings here happen in a windowless ballroom, as if the whole point of flying everyone to Florida was the carpet.
Corazon Azul builds the version your team will actually remember – hosted beach challenges, neighborhood hunts and resort formats for groups of over 20, designed to be phenomenally fun and engineered underneath to get people communicating, collaborating and trusting each other.

Miami, the way we use it
The beach is the obvious asset, and we use it properly – not as a backdrop for a photo, but as the playing field. Sand changes how a team works: building challenges get physical, races get funny fast, and the hierarchy that survived the flight down tends to dissolve somewhere around the first round. Beachfront stretches and resort lawns up and down the coast give us room for groups from twenty to several hundred without anyone feeling fenced in.
Off the sand, Miami’s neighborhoods carry hunts beautifully – art-covered streets, historic blocks, bayside parks – each with its own texture, so the course your team runs feels like the city and not a generic route. And the city’s resort and hotel stock means the indoor twin of any outdoor plan is a ballroom away when the sky has other ideas.
One thing we plan around honestly: the heat. Midday in a Miami summer is not a scheduling detail, it is a design constraint. Outdoor formats run mornings or late afternoons in the warm months, shade and water are built into the course, and rounds are paced by people who have hosted in this sun before.
Formats that belong to Miami
Beach challenges. The signature. Teams build, race and solve on the sand – sculpting challenges where five adults argue happily over a turret, water-carry relays that take balance and trust, course problems spread along the shoreline. Competitive, ridiculous, unforgettable.
Neighborhood hunts. Teams navigate a course through one of Miami’s distinct districts – reading the streets, choosing routes, cracking problems at real locations. Best for groups who want the city itself in the story of their day.
Resort-lawn and poolside formats. For groups staying on property: the grounds become the course, the event flows into your evening, and nobody boards a bus all day.
Give-back builds under cover. When the day should leave something behind besides photographs: teams build wheelchairs, assemble bikes, or pack kits for donation through our charity partners – to recipients who could not buy these things themselves. Miami’s ballrooms and pavilions make fine build floors, and the handover moment lands as hard here as anywhere we work.
Sample structure – a morning beach format, step by step
- Arrival on the sand (15 minutes). Teams form at the water’s edge, shoes optional, titles irrelevant. The first problem is simple and fast – a win is available early, on purpose.
- Round one – the build (35-40 minutes). A construction challenge in the sand that no pair of hands can finish alone. Communication shows up by necessity, not by lecture.
- Round two – the relay (30-40 minutes). Movement, balance, trust – the round where the laughter peaks and the teams start operating like teams.
- The course round (30-40 minutes). Problems spread along the beachfront pull the whole group into motion and strategy.
- The finale (20-30 minutes). Everyone together for the closing challenge and the scores, then the close: what this group just proved it can do, said out loud while the evidence is still in front of them.
- Shade, water and reset. Built into every transition – in Miami, looking after the group in the heat is part of the hosting, not an afterthought.

Group-size guidance
- 20 to 50: The whole group on one stretch of sand. Deep formats, full-group challenges, a host working close.
- 50 to 200: Parallel team courses along the beachfront or through a neighborhood, whole-group opens and finales.
- 200 to 1,000: Resort-scale production – multiple course variants, staged starts, sound and sightlines planned for open ground.
- 1,000+: Choreographed at production scale, with participation kept real at team level. Possible in Miami precisely because the space allows it.
There is a format for every group over 20 and a way to build it for every type of budget. Tell us the outcome you want and the window you have, and we will design backwards from both.
Logistics – Miami specifics
- Timing is a safety feature: warm-season outdoor events start in the morning or late afternoon. We will recommend against a midday July start, plainly and early – that honesty is part of what you are hiring.
- Weather plan: Miami weather moves fast in both directions. Every outdoor plan carries an indoor or covered twin, designed in advance, with a switch time agreed in planning.
- Venue-flexible: beachfront resorts, hotel ballrooms, bayside parks and neighborhood bases. If the property is not chosen, say so when you get in touch – we will advise before you commit.
- We bring: design, hosting and facilitation, all activity materials, scoring and the finale, shade-and-water discipline for the group, and planning calls that fit the event to your program.
- You bring: the people and the window. Sunscreen is genuinely on the packing list we send your team – Miami does not forgive forgetting it.
FAQ
Is the beach really practical for a work group, or is it just a nice idea?
Practical, when it is hosted properly. The formats are built for adults in ordinary clothes-changing-optional beach settings: no swimming required, no athletic standard, roles for every mobility level. What the beach adds is energy and honesty – people relax into the competition faster outdoors.
What about the heat?
We schedule around it, hydrate through it, and pace rounds for it. Morning and late-afternoon starts in the warm months, shade designed into the course, water at every stop. A host who respects the Miami sun keeps a group happy; one who ignores it loses them by noon.
Rain blows in fast here. What then?
The covered or indoor twin of your event takes over – a complete format, designed before the day, agreed switch time in planning. Miami rain is usually a chapter, not the whole book; we design for both versions.
Can we do a give-back event in Miami instead of a beach day?
Yes, and it pairs well: a morning build under cover, the handover, then the beach or the evening is yours. We work with over 100 charities and nonprofit foundations in the United States and internationally, and we can source a Miami-area recipient matched to your team’s cause.
Our group is split between Miami Beach and downtown. Where do we run it?
One base, chosen so both halves reach it easily – often beachfront, since that is what people flew in hoping to see. Tell us the hotels when you get in touch and we will draw the geography for you.
What do you need from us to give a proposal?
Dates, headcount, where the group is based, and the window you can give us. Tell us exactly that when you get in touch.
