In Las Vegas, your team event is competing with everything.
That is the honest starting point. Your group has flown in for the meeting, the kickoff, the conference – and the city outside the ballroom door is engineered, at enormous expense, to pull their attention in every direction at once. A filler session does not stand a chance. By the second coffee break, half the room is somewhere else in their heads.
Corazon Azul builds the session that wins that competition fairly: hosted team challenges, hunts and give-back builds for groups of over 20, phenomenally fun on the surface and engineered underneath to get people communicating, collaborating and trusting each other. In a city of spectators, this is the part of the program where everybody is in the game.

Las Vegas, the way we use it
Start with the gift this city hands every planner: infrastructure. Ballrooms that swallow a thousand people without blinking. Hotels where the meeting, the meals, the rooms and the evening all live under one roof, so a team event does not lose forty minutes to buses and headcounts. Groups come here already assembled – our job is to give that assembly a moment that actually binds it together.
We design around how a Vegas program really runs. Your general session ends, the room flips, and the team block has ninety minutes, maybe two hours, before dinner. That window is not a limitation; it is a discipline we plan to the minute. Formats open fast, put a real win on the table early, and build to a finale the whole room shares – because a team that has just laughed and competed together walks into that dinner as a different group.
And when the program has room to breathe, the city itself becomes the course: hunts that run through resort corridors, downtown streets and the pockets of Las Vegas most visitors never see, each stop a real problem to solve rather than a photo to pose for.
One more piece of honesty, because planners deserve it from us: the desert. Summer heat in Las Vegas is not a footnote, it is a design constraint, and we treat it the way we treat every constraint – planned around, openly, before your group is standing in it.
Formats that belong to Las Vegas
Ballroom challenges at convention scale. The workhorse, and proud of it. Tabletop and full-room formats built for the way Vegas ballrooms actually work: fast room turns, big headcounts, energy that has to reach the back row. Teams build, decode and compete in rounds that scale from a single breakout room to a general-session floor.
Resort and Strip hunts. Teams navigate a course through the property and the streets around it – reading the environment, choosing routes, cracking problems at real locations. The spectacle of the city becomes scenery for a story your team is inside, not just looking at.
Downtown and off-Strip hunts. For groups who want the older, grittier, more human Las Vegas: historic blocks, local color, a course that feels discovered rather than manufactured.
Give-back builds. When the day should leave something behind besides photographs: teams build wheelchairs, assemble bikes for children, or pack kits for donation through our charity partners – to recipients who could not buy these things themselves. Vegas ballrooms make superb build floors, and a handover moment in the middle of a convention program changes the temperature of the whole event.
Sample structure – a two-hour ballroom format, step by step
- The open (10 minutes). The room is already loud from the general session; we use that energy instead of fighting it. Teams form at tables, the rules land in one breath, and the first problem is on the table before anyone reaches for a phone.
- Round one – the tabletop build (30 minutes). A construction challenge with more pieces than instructions. No pair of hands can finish it alone, so communication shows up by necessity, not by lecture.
- Round two – the guided challenge (25-30 minutes). One teammate sees, the rest do. Trust stops being a word in the company values and becomes the only way the task gets done – and the room gets very funny, very fast.
- Round three – the room-wide problem (25-30 minutes). Tables discover their results only combine into an answer together. The competition turns, briefly and deliberately, into the whole room against the problem.
- The finale (15-20 minutes). Scores, the closing challenge, and the close: what this group just proved it can do, said out loud while the evidence is still on the tables in front of them. Then we hand you back to your program on time – in Vegas, on time is a promise we keep in writing.

Group-size guidance
- 20 to 50: One room, one host working close. Deep formats, full-group challenges, nowhere to hide and no need to.
- 50 to 200: Parallel tabletop courses and hunt routes, whole-group opens and finales. The classic Vegas meeting size, and the one this city is built for.
- 200 to 1,000: Convention scale. Multiple course variants, staged starts, sound and sightlines planned for a big floor, participation kept real at team level.
- 1,000+: Choreographed at production scale with your AV and venue teams in the planning loop from day one. Vegas is one of the few cities where we can say that plainly – the rooms exist.
There is a format for every group over 20 and a way to build it for every type of budget. Tell us the outcome you want and the window your program can give us, and we will design backwards from both.
Logistics – Las Vegas specifics
- Program-first scheduling: tell us where the team block sits in your agenda – after a general session, before a dinner, as a morning opener – and the format is built to that slot, including the room-flip time your venue actually needs.
- Heat discipline: warm-season outdoor elements run early or in the evening, hunts are routed through shade and indoor stops, and water is built into the course. Midday outdoor starts in summer are something we will recommend against, plainly and early.
- Venue-flexible: Strip resorts, off-Strip properties, downtown venues and dedicated event spaces. If the property is not chosen, say so when you get in touch – we will advise before you commit.
- Casino-floor note: our formats live in your meeting space and on our hunt courses, not on the gaming floor – no part of the event depends on gambling, and every participant is in the same game from the first minute.
- We bring: design, hosting and facilitation, all activity materials, scoring and the finale, and planning calls that fit the event to your program.
- You bring: the people and the window in the program. We handle the rest.
FAQ
Our program only has ninety minutes. Is that enough to be worth doing?
Yes, if the format is built for ninety minutes instead of a longer one cut down. Short windows are the Vegas normal. We open fast, put a win on the table early, and protect the finale – the part people remember – rather than squeezing in one more round.
Our group is in the hundreds. Does everyone actually participate?
Everyone. The formats scale by teams, not by audience: at any headcount, each person is on a small team with a real task in every round. Spectators are a design failure, and we design against it.
Can the event run entirely inside our hotel?
Easily – most of ours do. Ballroom challenges and give-back builds never need to leave the property, and resort hunts can be routed so the course stays under your roof if your program prefers it.
What about the heat if we want an outdoor element?
We schedule it early or late, route it through shade and indoor stops, and build water into the course. If the honest answer for your dates is that outdoors is the wrong call, we will tell you in planning and design the indoor version at full strength.
Can we do a give-back build instead of a competition?
Yes – wheelchair builds, bikes for children, kit packing and solar light builds all run beautifully in a Vegas ballroom. We work with over 100 charities and nonprofit foundations in the United States and internationally, and based on your team’s desire we can source a specific foundation, hospital or cause to receive what your group builds.
What do you need from us to give a proposal?
Dates, headcount, the property or area you are based in, and the window in your program you can give us. Tell us exactly that when you get in touch.
